editSome details that are under “Career” could go under “Personal life,” which seems a bit lacking. The details of her personal life (e.g. studying to be a minister, conversion, marriage, etc. could have dates.
Might be interesting to include quotes from her essay “I am a Woman Again”, or if there are any other essays.
What Happened to NPOV?
editWith words like "Butch Lesbian" and "bulldyke", It's hard to see this article as being NPOV. Consider re-wording, or explain here that those words are not POV.

Um. She called herself a bulldyke and a butch. There are no NPOV issues here. - Outerlimits 18:37, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Harlem at age 16?
editIn Gladys Bentley's article in ebony which can be viewed here http://queermusicheritage.com/bentley6.html she states that she began performing at the age of 16. During this video interviewshe states that she has been singing for "about 40 years" but she died at age 52. This would mean that she began performing much sooner? Bulldaggers, Pansies, and Chcolate Babies Performance, Race, and Sexuality in the Harlem Renaissance states that she arrived in Harlem in 1925ish (page 164) which given her birth in 1907 would make her 21 when she began her career.
I am new to the whole wikipedia thing and I'm not sure how this works but I am not sure how reliable her article in Ebony is as during the 1950s there was a massive homophobic backlash and she may have been reacting to the time period. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.206.19.2 (talk) 09:03, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
